
Dr. Rigo is a respected member of leading dermatological associations, including the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS). Her groundbreaking research has been presented at prominent national conferences, such as those hosted by the ACMS, ASDS, and the Society of Investigative Dermatology. Furthermore, she was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the AAD, where she emphasized the importance of advancing safety measures in dermatologic procedures.
Dr. Rigo is double board certified in Dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery. She trained for nearly a decade in New York City, graduating from Columbia University medical school, including a year in the Angela Christiano Lab studying hair follicle genetics. She completed an Internal Medicine internship at Mount Sinai - St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals, followed by Dermatology residency at New York-Presbyterian - Weill Cornell Medicine and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She served as Chief Resident in her final year. Dr. Rigo went on to finish her Mohs Surgery fellowship at UCSF, where she also received extensive cosmetic and laser training.
Dr. Rigo has authored many peer-reviewed articles on topics such as surgical education, field therapy for pre-cancers, non-surgical treatments for skin cancer, duration of local anesthesia, hair follicle genetics, and Kaposi sarcoma. She is an author of the chapter on botulinum toxin in one of the top Dermatology textbooks, and also contributed to a laboratory manual that sets the standard for performing high quality Mohs micrographic surgery.
